Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by my site. My name is Kelsey Reube and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I currently work with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. I have always felt a calling to be a therapist to help others better their lives and have been working in the mental health field for over 12 years now.
I personally believe that no matter what we have gone through in our lives, we can use our experiences to grow into our best self. Therapy can allow us to reflect and help us heal from any past hurts. The arrow is a powerful symbol to me that represents the growth we are capable of. In order for an arrow to aim forward, it must be pulled back with the bow to gain strength. We cannot change our past, no matter how much we may try to ignore it or feel shame about it. Instead, we can grow by accepting our past and pulling from these experiences, no matter how traumatic, by learning how they shaped us into who we are today. Therapy isn’t about finding out what’s “wrong” with you, instead discovering the strengths we each have and learning how to incorporate them to live our best life. We are the arrow, using our strength from the past aiming forward into a more hopeful and happier future.
I received my Bachelor in Arts from Shippensburg University with a major in Psychology and minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. I received my Masters in Arts as a Marriage and Family Therapist from La Salle University. I have vast experience working with a diverse population of couples, children, adolescents and families. I specialize with teenagers and adults who struggle with suicidal ideation/intent and self-harm behaviors. I practice play therapy as well as am trained in trauma focused therapy with children, adolescents and adults. I also incorporate mindfulness into therapy, being trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction.
I see clients who primarily reside in Berks, Montgomery and Chester County. I offer sessions virtually and offer sessions in person in Wyomissing. If you would like to get to know me more, please reach out!
On a personal note…
I am an animal lover and own 3 dogs! I enjoy doing yoga, going on hikes with my dogs in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I love outdoor adventures like kayaking, rock climbing and skydiving! I enjoy supporting local animal rescues and borrowing a book to read from my local library. My 5 go-to coping skills: color, play with my dogs, meditate or yoga, talk to a loved one, journal.
